Psychological Services and Consultation
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
ARE YOU CURRENTLY TAKING NEW CLIENTS?
For clients in the U.S., contact me for my current availability for teletherapy services. For clients in Hong Kong, contact me for my current availability for in-person services. Typically, sessions are conducted on weekday nights and weekends depending on mutual agreement.
WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN AT MY FIRST VISIT?
You will be asked to complete some administrative work as part of the registration for being a new client. Then, there will be a standardized assessment in order to understand your background. Lastly, we will discuss a plan together on how to proceed based on my recommendations and your input.
IS THERE A STANDARD LENGTH OF TREATMENT?
The treatment duration differs depending on one's need. Typically, clients start to show progress between 4-8 sessions, but there is no standard length in general. Treatment outcomes also differ as each client has their own pace. Some clients find it helpful to have ongoing sessions even without a significant presenting issue to develop preventive measures and deeper self-understanding.
HOW LONG DOES EACH THERAPY SESSION TAKE?
Each individual psychotherapy session lasts around 45 to 60 minutes. For an intake session (if it is your first time), it takes around 90 minutes for gathering information and conducting an assessment.
WHAT PAYMENT METHOD(S) DO YOU ACCEPT?
For all new clients, I request to have a record of your credit card info in case there are any problems with your preferred payment method. For regular payments in Hong Kong, I accept cash, Faster Payment System (FPS), and PayMe from HSBC. For payments in the United States, I accept Paypal and Zelle.
DO YOU OFFER SLIDING SCALE RATES?
I offer sliding scale under special circumstances for students and clients of a lower socioeconomic status. Contact me for further discussion.
